Arrowtown

Filed under: New Zealand Trip — sharon @ 11:44 am

Arrowtown is a cute, former gold rush town not far from Queenstown. Very quaint. Not having been to Coloma or any of the other ones in California, I don’t have a point of comparison. This is where the princess would be helpful! We stopped for a quick cup of tea and some biscuits (ok…cookies!). Dad would have been happy – there was fruitcake too. There were some small hills on the way, which would have been cake on my road bike, but I’m back on something much more approaching a mountain bike. It’s huge, cushy, and heavy…ick. But I’ll have to get used to it.

On the way to Arrowtown, we passed all the NZ meats…lots of lamb, a venison farm – strange to see reindeer grazing like they are cows, and of course – beef. The green fields are quite beautiful, but the snow capped peaks behind them really add something.
