Well, we were promised an excellent bowl of soup with bread for lunch and we were not disappointed. The only thing is that the Cardrona Hotel (http://www.cardronahotel.co.nz/) has a unique view of soup sizes. While we are all used to choosing between a cup and bowl, they only have one size there. I call it tureen. I swear the bowl was a big as the Williamsburg pewter soup tureen from Natalie and Maurice. I had cream of mushroom (the veggie option), but there was also a good smelling beef ghoulash. The grounds of this little hotel, which is basically the whole town, are gorgeous. Each room has a little garden outside it’s window – filled with lots of purple flowers. Katherine told me the name of one of them that I think are cool…stalky things, with a conical mini-snapdragon-like top. Will ask again at dinner tonight. There were also pansies…one of my favorite flowers. We basked in the warm sun around the picnic table and got to know one another a little bit. Then we were off for the last stretch of the day … down to Lake Wanaka.

This blog thing is great. Keep it up. Too bad Molly does not have one. I do not think she would update as well as you do. Does the school have a blog??
Looks like you are having a good time, and you are enjoying your group.
Did you doggie bag your soup? it seems there was enough for three days.
